Q: Who is Sonia Ledo?
A: A fresh new face for CA State Assembly in Contra Costa's District 15.
Sonia Ledo is a fresh, bold new face who, armed with a cache of common sense, will work across the aisle to solve some of California's toughest issues in our legislature.
Sonia is a working mother of four adult sons, including 20-year old autistic twins.
Sonia began her business three decades ago as a mortgage lender in East Contra Costa County helping the Spanish-speaking community become first-time homeowners. Being fluent in Spanish, this was a rewarding experience where she funded millions of dollars in loans, utilizing CalHFA down-payment assistance programs, FHA/VA financing, and mortgage credit programs for first-time buyers. Sonia would like to see the return of first-time buyer mortgage credit programs that, combined with down-payment assistance, would help these buyers given today's higher interest rates. This, combined with solutions to affordable housing, will help more buyers realize the American Dream of Homeownership.
Sonia has been a California licensed real estate professional since 1991, and a earned bachelor's degree in pre-law. She is well respected in Contra Costa, known for high ethical standards, and always doing what is best for her clients. She is proud to have built her business on word of mouth referrals. Sonia will apply these business practices to Sacramento and work collaboratively across party lines to best represent District 15.
Like many Californians, Sonia is fed up with the rising cost of everything, from gas to groceries, and bureaucratic government that can't seem to deliver effective basic services no matter how much taxpayer money they get.
Sonia is smart, tough, and bold. Sonia will represent change in our State Assembly.
Sonia will focus on the most important priorities of public safety, education, mental health, water, state budgets, taxation, the insurance crisis, and housing policies to reduce bureaucracy and drive improvement in service delivery.
You won’t hear any talk about sympathy for criminals from Sonia. She believes in policy that mandates prosecution, sentencing, and rehabilitation. A proponent of drug-court treatment, Sonia previously worked with the Drug Court Commissioner in Napa County to implement an effective tracking tool for the drug-court program which has proven to reduce recidivism.
Sonia will address our most urgent problems with direct solution-driven approaches. and leave the virtue signaling for the far-left progressives.
